The Mossberg 500 JIC is the pump-action 12 gauge Mossberg packs into a sealed storage tube, and this used example, serial V0449458, still has its water- and airtight tube with it. The barrel is 18.5 inches with a cylinder choke. Bore is excellent, finish and grips are near excellent, and the whole package grades near excellent.

At 18.5 inches the barrel is short enough to stow in a boat, cabin or truck, and the sealed tube keeps it dry in storage through a New Jersey winter. With buckshot or slugs it is also usable as a deer gun in the state's shotgun seasons, including the six-day firearm season on December 7 to 12, 2026, provided it holds no more than three shells; the cylinder bore favors close shots in thick cover. Think of it as a backup or camp gun rather than a dedicated field piece.
