The Beretta A400 Xplor Action in 20 gauge is a semi-automatic field shotgun with a 28-inch vent rib barrel, a removable choke and a chamber for 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells. The receiver is bronze finished and the barrel is blued, with a fiber optic front sight. The checkered wood stock and forend carry the Kick-Off recoil device and a 14.5-inch length of pull. A 20 gauge wood-stocked semi-automatic is the upland and clays gun of the family, and the Kick-Off device takes the edge off a long session. For New Jersey deer it also qualifies: the state accepts shotguns from 20 to 10 gauge with slugs or buckshot, with capacity limited to three shells, in the six-day firearm season of December 7 to 12, 2026 and the permit shotgun seasons that run from late November into February in the High-set zones of the northwest. The bronze receiver and blued barrel give it a field finish rather than camouflage.
