A Belgian-made Browning Challenger, serial 104955U8, manufactured in 1968. It is a single-action-only .22 LR pistol with a 6.75-inch barrel, a bladed front sight, blued finish and checkered wood grips. The bore is excellent. The finish shows handling wear, most of it on the rear left side of the slide, and overall condition is rated very good.

The Challenger belongs on a New Jersey range, where a long-barreled .22 with a blade front sight is a pleasure for slow-fire paper work, and in a collection, where a 1968 Belgian Browning in very good condition has its own appeal. The single-action-only trigger rewards a careful shooter. The permit for it comes from the police chief of your town, or from the State Police where there is no full-time department, and applicants since July 2022 show an approved safety course taken within the previous four years. There is no separate state waiting period.
