Q & A
Is this the same FCU as other P320 models?
Yes. The serialized Fire Control Unit is the same modular component used across the P320 series, including the military M17. This means you can swap this FCU into other P320 grip modules and slides if desired, though the XTEN-specific slide and barrel are optimized for 10mm.
What optics mount directly to the slide?
The slide is cut for the SIG Romeo1Pro footprint, which is also compatible with the popular RMSc (Shield) pattern. This includes optics like the SIG Romeo1Pro, Romeo-X, and many Holosun models (using their included adapter plates). An adapter plate is not included but is often provided by the optic manufacturer.
How does it handle recoil with full-power 10mm?
The combination of the full-size, heavy steel slide, the 5-inch barrel, and the aggressively textured XSeries grip module does an excellent job of managing the 10mm’s recoil impulse. The high grip and extended beavertail help control muzzle rise, making follow-up shots faster and more manageable than with many compact 10mm pistols.
