A kinko kodzuka on a polished copper ground, unsigned, carrying two figures. On the left is Daikoku, the god of prosperity who aids farmers at harvest; the other figure is Ebisu, patron of fishermen, shown with a large fish. No signature is present anywhere on the piece.
The pairing of Daikoku and Ebisu is presented here on plain polished copper rather than a precious-metal ground, which keeps the figures as the focus, and the two deities appear with their usual attributes, the harvest for Daikoku and the fish for Ebisu. For a New Jersey collector it is an unsigned study piece, suitable for a fittings tray or for completing a koshirae that has an empty kodzuka slot. Judge it on the workmanship of the two figures and the condition of the copper surface; no maker is claimed.
