What does “LEM” mean and how does it work?
The Law Enforcement Modification (LEM) is a unique double-action-only trigger system. It uses a mainspring under full tension, but the trigger pull is partially pre-cocked by an internal mechanism, resulting in a lighter, smoother pull than a traditional double-action. There is a long, consistent take-up, then a crisp break. The hammer is automatically pre-tensioned when the slide cycles.
Is the decocking lever also a safety?
No. On this V1 variant, the lever is a decocker only. Pressing it safely lowers the hammer on a loaded chamber. It does not engage a manual safety. The firearm is then in the LEM trigger mode, ready for a consistent double-action pull.
Will aftermarket frames or parts fit this model?
Proceed with caution. We had a customer return one stating it was “too tight”; the issue was an aftermarket frame. For guaranteed reliability and fit, we strongly recommend using OEM HK components. This pistol is engineered to exact tolerances.
